Rheem 325 litre Split Heat Pump has ultra low GWP R290 refrigerant with a GWP of 0.02. These systems absorb renewable heat energy from the air that is processed through a refrigeration system, resulting in hot water stored in the cylinder. This type of water heating will use a third of the energy of a traditional electric water heater with running cost savings of up to 78%. Rheem 325 litre Split heat pump systems offer similar savings to a solar water heater, but without needing solar thermal collectors mounted on your roof. The stain steel 325 litre storage tank is tough, durable and won’t rust like normal vitrified enamel lined water storage tanks. I had an unpleasant experience with a plumbing company yesterday. I was advised that I needed a new hot water service. He did the evaluation at $461 even though I advised that this had been done last Friday. After completing the evaluation listed quote he said I needed a new service. Cost $4700. Shown on an Ipad. He didn’t email the quote. Still not receiving the quote I did some further research and came across Australian Hot Water. I rang and spoke to Kevin. He advised he would come and check the service and the board to make sure it is the water service. Remembering I had been told, it was the service. Kevin came promptly, checked the service and! No it was the board. I didn’t need a new service. His quote for a Rheem Electric Hot water service installed $1700 12 yr warranty on case. I cant thank Kevin enough for his service, integrity, honesty and reasonable pricing. I discussed my situation yesterday, he advised he has been in the business for 40 years. I’m not surprised, his integrity and reputation speak for themselves. Serving the community for so long. I have no hesitation in recommending this business and Kevin.

By far the best customer service for any trade industry I’ve experienced. We have a new born and as our hot water tank busted, Georgie got someone out almost within a few hours to look at the issue on a Friday. Angus gave some great advice while here and once we confirmed the new system, had Theo pop in first thing Monday to get us a temporary replacement system at no cost to us while the one we ordered arrives. If all trade industries were like Australian Hot Water, the world would be a better place, not even joking. My Experience with Australian Hotwater was average at best. I had the assigned technician arrive on time and was Polite and efficient 3
Stars. After seeing my HW Rhini Infinity 26 was 20yrs old we decided to replace the unit
This is where things went off kilter.
So the technician didn’t have the hot water unit available in his ute, fair enough Im happy to wait for someone to drop it off.
Unit is delivered and qoted around $1863 for like replacement. Only problem is the unit is Rhini 26B not Rhini Infinity 26 as they do have a few small differences.
Although unit is same internal 26L v 26L I’m told it does have other benefits like display’s temperature and looks much nicer and 12yr warranty over the 10yr warranty adds extra 2yrs compared to the B26. On the AHW website, like replacement for Infinity 26 is around $1990 im told cost will be a few hundred more for the Infinity.
After installation we couldn’t get the temperature to compare to the old unit coming out Warm only in the shower upstairs. After many attempts to correct this, we finally got the temperature up to something I’d call hot water.
Then time work out how to pay but Office is closed so im requested to provide my Debit card down for security. In good faith I did this and the price had now jumped up to over $2200 when given final price.

Considering the pipe had to be modified and new valves I accepted the price in principle when he drove off that evening but had not been given me a quote in writing to view before paying the next day.

The next day I wake to receive an email from the office 08:30 on a Saturday morning with my final quote and payment had already been deducted from my Debit card (provided as security). Only problem is Im hit with a $40 Credit card surcharge payment charge that I didn’t authorise to be paid via credit card. I never do this to avoid excessive charges but AHW are happy to process before checking if that was my preferred payment method.

I wasn’t contacted and asked how I wanted to finalise the payment giving me opportunity to Bpay with my bank costing me $0 .

Im told payment is finalised via credit and im slugged with a $40 surcharge to benefit the business so they can get money paid quickly and job finalised.

I find this concerning and not a customer service to your customer. This is wrong.

And for this reason would not use your company AHW in future.

The email response from the office when I complained was terrible stating the technician told me there would be a 2% surcharge on credit payment that I never agreed to is just gone to another level as I never agreed to settle with credit in the first place I hadn’t even been given a final quote to look over yet.

Beware of this and insist on BPay unless you have $40 (or more) 2% of total price to throw down the drain. Also replying to customer emails would be appreciated even if they are unhappy with your office service.

I gave 3 star for the technician only.

Just had my hot water system replaced by A&A hot water Cardiff, my system had dramatically exploded and tipped over during the night. I called early in the morning and was quoted in person that day and replaced with a brand new Heat Pump system by the afternoon.
Adam and his crew on site were excellent! they even managed to drain the old tank into a waste pipe, whilst the old heater laying on its side! This avoided burning my grass (which i take pride in). I didnt even ask they do this, they were just super professional and took care of what they were doing. I spoke with Matt about replacing a gas hot water system, he was quick to return with a competitive next-day quote and he was professional over the phone.

Unlike the previous shady plumber who tried to take advantage of my parents by charging a $600 diagnosis fee and $4000+ like-for-like replacement fee, Matt actually suggested a cheaper model that had the same internals & warranty period to the one I was after - but I was set on the pricier model.

The hot water system was replaced on the agreed date and timeframe, and the quality of the installation was to a high standard even though it was a Friday arvo job.

There were no extra costs associated with the installation and the whole process was very smooth as it should be, even the card payment processing fee was already factored into the price.

I had a split system SANDEN 300L heatpump installed last week. Couldn't be happier with it and Australian Hot Water (Canberra) and the entire installation process.

Some months back I got 6 or so quotes from a variety of hotwater companies in Canberra. I was exploring all options to replace my (almost 30 year old) existing gas hotwater tank (which was leaking). Among the best and most professional quotes was from Graham from Australian Hot Water. He wasn't pushy at all and on my request he gave me quotes for multiple hot water options i.e. gas, electric, heatpump (both all in one and split system). I'd never heard of heatpumps at the time and subsequently did my own research. After weighing up the various hotwater options, and different suppliers, I ended up deciding on the SANDEN split system heatpump from Australian Hot Water (Canberra), based on Grahams very professional quote in person (in particular all the time he spent explaining all options to me). Their price was also the best (or else similar) to my other SANDEN spilt system quotes. Furthermore however, turns out Australian Hot Water are one of only four (i think) companies in Canberra where you get a $1250 rebate off the purchase price (if you're with ActewAGL for electricity) so this further brought the cost down significantly.

When my existing hot water system ended up failing and stopped working altogether (which was very stressful at the time), Kylie (admin lady on the phone) was able to organise a temporary hot water tank at short notice (for the next day thankfully), which gave us hot water again. She also organised and fast tracked an install of a brand new split system SANDEN heatpump just a few days later (for which I was very appreciative).

Kylie also handled all the re-quoting (as the rebates had increased, so price had come down significantly) and organised all the interest free finance available to us here in the ACT (so no upfront out of pocket expense at all). It all couldn't have been simpler.

The actual installation itself was just as professional. Plumbers turned up at midday, removed my old tank (and the temporary tank) and were happy to explain what they were doing and answer all my questions. The installation was very neat and tidy. Friends/family all commented on how neat and professional the new system looks. As the plumbers were finishing the electricians arrived and were just as professional. They ran a separate circuit to my fuse box and were in and out with no fuss. Total installation (and removal of old system) took just under 4 hours.

We were warmly welcomed by Sammy who works in the office, she patiently explains to us of the services they offer and how they can help us with the government rebates. She promptly organise a free onsite quotation for us.

When Theo came to our house in a timely manner, he explains to us the pros and cons of the electric water tank and the heat pump and gives us no pressure to install either option. Theo has been in the industry for decades, he gave us valuable information as well as some tips to identify scammers for these government rebates. He is knowledge and easygoing.

On the day of installation, Michael, Martin and Theo came earlier than the appointment time. I was surprised as there were the only one of the many tradies that I meet lately that's actually on time. The installation was done within 1.5 hour. The whole time, these gentlemen had been very very professional, communicating prior and well so I have predictability. They all had been in the industry and the company for a long time! They are very skilful and careful! They cleaned up after themselves too!

I will be recommending them to my friends and family, I am sure that I will be a returning customer for any of my hot water needs.

I had a challenging job for the boys, and that was to remove my old 300lt solar hot water system from the roof, which was 3 levels up!!!! and then some how find the best way to get the gas from ground level up to the top level to install a new gas instantaneous hot water system into my laundry. I was dreading the day when Grant, Marcos and Jake came to do the job, as I knew the old system was going to have to be taken down and out through the apartment. The whole day it took to complete, went far smoother than expected. Grant was not phased by the job at all, I like a challenge he said. He came up with a good plan when he quoted for the job and on the day of removal and installation, any changes to that plan (and there were some) he spoke with me and explained why the changes were necessary prior to going ahead. I would like to share my experience with Australian Hot Water. I recently signed deal with them for my hot water update. The deal signed on Thursday, and they turned up the next Monday with everything ready. After the installation, we found the meter needs to be switched from Off-peak 1 to 2 . That is saying we are not going to get hot water until the next morning because the hot water unit currently running at night. The guys didn't leave us in this award situation, they called the boss and installed a temporary GPO for us, without any charges! I would like to call out the great service, and I will definitely recommend them to anyone who need to install the hot water system!

My 12-year old continuous water heater gave signs of old age thus needed replacement. Billy (from Australian Hot Water - West) immediately called me back to understand my issue and gave me options for replacement.

Billy has given me reasonable quotes - which is inclusive of alterations to the existing pipework (for which I found other suppliers to be charging additional cost on top of the supplied-installed quotes).

After accepting the quote in the morning, Matt is already at our doorstep in less than 3 hours - and fixed/replaced our outdoor water heating unit and indoor controller. He works very neatly - that you won't see any traces of materials left on work area. Seldom do I see tradies who cleans up and would remove working shoes when they get inside the customer's homes. Matt removed his ones, although it would have been fine with me.

I have a solar hot water unit and have had no hot water for 3 days. I spoke to a number of friends that are plumbers including my Nephew, every one of them said to call Aust Hot Water, as the will be faster and cheaper than them.

Great experience, we are converting from gas to electricity. They installed a heat pump hot water system which needed new wiring, they also ran a new circuit to the kitchen for an electric cooktop. All the work was done quickly but carefully, pipework and wiring was neat and tidy, as was the site when they left. Minimum disruption. The office staff communicated regularly throughout the lead up all thorough professionals, thanks everyone.

They won't talk you into something that you don't need. Last year Billy helped us fix our old tank's ignition over the phone (with no charges), which then lasted us for another year. Whilst all the other suppliers that I reached out to at the time were trying to get us buy new tanks right away.

Our large hot water system leaked late on a Friday afternoon. While it was clear the system needs to be replaced, no plumber would offer to do the work, let alone on the weekend.
